Diane Morgan - Retired

Diane is a Senior Ecologist and ran the company alongside Phil Morgan for many years. She retired at the end of 2022 and is only finishing specific projects, as well as carrying out evening survey work. She is an experienced bat ecologist of thirty years standing, with an extensive background to surveying built structures – both above and below ground – for bats.

She has carried out ringing of Daubenton's bat as part of a multi-year research project on the species and has undertaken monitoring work on several important lesser horseshoe bat roosts and assisted in radio tracking projects on the same species.

Prior to her work as a consultant ecologist, Diane was the Director of Brecknock Wildlife Trust and was involved in a wide range of nature conservation work including species and habitat protection and conservation land management. Other areas of interest include otter, dormice, water voles, reptiles, amphibians, fungi and crayfish.

Diane holds NE and NRW species licences to work with bats, dormice, great crested newts, otters and water voles. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (ACIEEM).

Interesting Fact

Diane has wriggled in and out of small spaces wearing a face mask and carrying an air tank to complete training for safe access into high risk confined spaces. During training, Diane looked more like Fireman Sam than an ecologist.
