Catherine Povey
Assistant Ecologist
Catherine has had a varied career and has worked for Just Mammals since 2023. She applied to be a survey assistant in her spare time and somehow ended up as a Trainee Ecologist. Catherine enjoys the satisfaction of seeing a project through from the original client communication, survey fieldwork to writing up the final report. She enjoys being part of a team but also likes the autonomy afforded by the job.
Catherine is passionate about plants, fungi and insects and has a large garden (wilderness) that she manages in order to enhance biodiversity in her local area. She believes working in ecological consultancy is important to ensure that wildlife is not forgotten in the planning and development process.
In her spare time she enjoys walking and making alcoholic beverages from invasive species.
