Miriam Wearing
Assistant Ecologist
Miriam began working with Just Mammals as a bat survey assistant following the completion of her degree in Ecology at Aberystwyth University. She has had a fascination for nature since childhood and found herself drawn to the natural sciences at school. The survey work with Just Mammals confirmed Miriam's passion for bats and in the next few years she completed an MSc in Wildlife and Conservation Management and began working as a Trainee Ecologist for Just Mammals. She has been with the company ever since and is currently working towards her bat (and other species) licences.
Miriam enjoys the detective work of surveys. She likes figuring out what is happening at a site, putting all the pieces of the puzzle together and making sense of the systems involved.
Miriam also likes to be outdoors when she is not at work enjoying recurve archery.
